WELCOME TO THE WEAVER HOUSE // promo video

If you're reading this, then you kinda missed the memo... GET OVER TO OUR NEW PROJECT, THE WEAVER HOUSE!

Our official promo video for The Weaver House is up! Yikes. And it's only a matter of weeks until the full site and shop are ready... We're hoping this'll give you an idea in the meantime of who we are and what we do, make and sell.

Pop on over and follow the new Weaver House Blog for future updates on our work, inspiration, and lives...

Thanks to Shola, our incredible model-muse of a bestie, for lending her incredible talents to this project, as well as her man-friend, Vikesh. Many thanks also to our dear friend Nadia who worked her magical makeup skills for the video. And a final thanks to Hannah's husband Alex for shooting and editing this baby {and putting up with us in the process}. You guys are the best!

The Countdown Begins // come on over!

The time has come...

As we prepare to launch our new company, The Weaver House, we must face the bittersweet task of leaving Steep Street behind. We hope you'll join us there for a teaser video, more sneak peek photos, and the budding world of twin-fueled adventures in creative cooperation. There's so much to look forward to.

Come on over!

Hannah // & the weaver house

Remember our little announcement in November? Well here's a brief update regarding Hannah and my re-branding adventures...

Our new company, The Weaver House, will launch in the next few weeks and we're simply frazzled with excitement. Look forward to a Farewell TGIH and a riveting countdown to the new launch, beginning soon.

Thanks to Bobby Abrahamson for this lovely polaroid of Hannah, who was caught pleasantly surprised in North Portland the other morning on her way to volunteer at Sabi & Friends Vintage. You can see more of his neighborly photography projects here, here and here.

Happy Friday, friends.

North Portland // a peek

In our brief moments of escape from the computer, Hannah and I have been wandering our favorite places in North Portland. Friends' homes and businesses draw us in with their warm faces and eclectic spaces... more to come.

I have a sneaking suspicion I would get more done if the wall behind my monitors were blank.

Thickly Settled // a year in photos

Last summer, before Justin and my year-long adventure on the east coast began, I decided to think big for the following year's holiday presents. I planned to take a photo a day for one year and bind them together for my nearest and dearest when the year was over. And I did. Thickly Settled serves as both a personal diary of my year on the east coast as well as a tribute to those who helped me make it through. :) You'll see lots of dogs, snow, weddings, food, strangers, cities, forests, family, and friends, most never posted on the blog or shown before. A photo every day turned out to be a harder task than this grouchy hermit had anticipated, but the task was a constant reminder to keep my eyes open every day and to be grateful for everyone and everything in my life.

Let me know if you'd like to purchase a copy or browse one at the farm... happy new year, friends. xo

All in the Family // anything goes

Our family Christmas Eves are legendary. Food of all shapes, colors and tastes. Trees decked out as glitzy as the gals are. Practical jokes, mad gossip and gag gifts aplenty. Oh, and enough rough-housing, drink swillin' and ciggie smoking to bring the house down. The tradition has always been that there is no tradition (unless you count carol singing, over-eating and general mass mayhem). Anything goes! Well, maybe it's tamed down a bit since the sixties... Though we'll miss the gaggle this year, we love knowing that even from afar, the legend continues. xo

A Very Hannah & Alex Holiday // Movie IV

Everyone needs something to look forward to during the craziness of the holidays. This is my something.

My brilliant sister and brother-in-law have done it again, folks... they've taken their holiday movie tradition to a whole new level this year with a spoofy, side-splitting, fun-loving dark comedy in music video form. Enjoy a cast of dedicated buddies, Alex's brilliant filming, music, and special effects, as well as Hannah's Dusty Springfield pipes, hilarious lyrics, and saucy dance moves. Did I mention it takes place in Justin and my new living room?

Give the video a spin below, or check out their new HOLIDAY VIDEO COMPENDIUM, where you can watch and read more about all of their movies, enjoy outtakes and click through candid on-set photos. In addition to this year's masterpiece, you'll find a jolly Bay Area who-dunnit, a rescue mission romance set in space, and a creepy noir murder mystery, all packed with song, dance, and genuine holiday hilarity.

This could be your something, too... what's your favorite bit?

Treasure Cycle // holiday shopping guide #2

I know I've gushed lots about this pixie wunderkind before, but the sentiment bears repeating: Cady has impeccable style, thrift store genius-vision, and hands small enough to create gems that look forged by mother nature herself... and now she has an online store packed with precious jewels both handmade and vintage, ready for the holidays. Her myriad of rings, lockets, cuff bracelets, brooches, feathers, pendants and bangles will send your heart aflutter...

Peek below for only a tiny portion of the Treasure Cycle Collection I've amassed... (as well as a sneak from her upcoming wedding post!) How do you get your mitts on these beauties, you may be wondering?

**All you Bay Area Brats out there!** check out the local trunk show TONIGHT! 7:30 pm at the glorious Chocolate Covered (4069 24th st. in Noe Valley) or... if you're stuck hundreds of miles away like I am and can't make it, spree happily in her etsy shop here or drool over her her latest dazzling vintage purchases on her blog here. Let the spree-ing begin!
